Is it normal to wish your mother is dead

I sort of do and it's not because any particular incident that you may think may result from; it is from the simple fact that I've lived with her for approximately 13 or so years and she constantly causes trouble not only for me but also for my dad

I wish she was dead so that my dad and I can carry on with our lives.

  • I like how casual your story sounds when read aloud. I almost laughed out loud for real.

If she's borderline or narcissistic it's understandable. I wished death on mine for a good 10 yrs then you grow up and it doesn't even matter. You just don't want anything to do with her.

  • From what you said, no, it's not normal.
It would seem normal if she was severely abusive, but nothing you said suggested that.

    • She is severely abusive and manipulative. If she is not the center of something, she tries to break it in any way possible.

      • Well, it's normal if she is severely abusive. You just haven't mentioned what she does exactly that is so abusive.
Being an attention whore is not being abusive unless she is exploiting you for her attention.

        • My dad is a professor. My mom just to get to be the center of attention took the answer key without informing my dad and gave it to the students. The students were all compliments (of course), but my poor dad was still lecturing seriously, when his students who now have the answer key were laughing at him.

          • That's not abusive. That's her being just stupid.
I would consider abusive to be molesting your kids, or getting them hooked on meth, or burning them on the stove or in boiling water, etc. Those things are abusive. I could give hundreds more examples of horror stories I have personally heard from people about child abuse and calling something like cheating on tests as abusive is almost an insult to people who have gone though these sort of things.

            • Emotional and verbal abuse is just as severe if not more so than physical abuse.

            • Honestly, how would you feel if you were my dad.
