Is it normal to wish to be a christian ?

Is it normal that i always wished i was a christian , i am a muslim .Why ? , because i like to decorate the christmas tree and have presents under the tree and have a family gathering in christmas , i also like to decorate the easter eggs ,and have chocolate eggs as well .Christian holidays are very fun unlike the muslim holidays were they make some sort of date sweet (it's called holiday cakes, but they are not cakes they are very very small made from semolina and have date inside of them ) and just visit relatives and eat those date sweets with coffee while visiting them ,sometimes you get money from your parents or very close relatives (instead of a gift like in christmas) and sometimes you don't , kids usually always get money but adults after a certain age don't .

Hell, I'm an atheist and I still enjoy all Christian holidays, why? Because they are fun, all holidays are fun.

    Normal.

The aspects the OP has described are not those of Christian Holidays. They are those of secular, consumerist festivals that originated from Christian Holdiays. The celebrations at Easter and especially Christmas nowadays have very little to do with the Christian faith.

You don't have to be a Christian to celebrate Christmas - the idea of Christmas to me is all about family and friends getting together and having a good time.

One of my friends is Muslim and I join him with his celebrations of Ed - enjoying the wonderful meal his family provides and having a good time.

Switching religions because you want a christmas tree and chocolate eggs.....thats devotion right there.

Most Christians are constantly worried about how the real meaning of Christmas/Easter is being lost. So atheists probably enjoy the celebrations more! But I understand how being Muslim would complicate things.

The thing is... that's just the trappings.

You can have those just from being Pagan.

    Being Christian means worshipping Christ.

sorry but that is kind of dumb.
you don't have to be christian just because of their holidays. I guess it's because in your family the Muslim traditions are boring.
I'm a Muslim and we celebrate our holidays in a fun way.
for example in Aid Fiter we really do bake cakes but they are not just semolina. in the morning we take the dates and cakes to the roads and give some to the passengers and then we return home and drink the herb soup then we sign the Aid song etc ....
The new year of Islam WE Cook traditionel foods and do a dance in the roads and invite all the city for lunch and then we play at night fire works and we give presents to eachother, at home we put the fanous a lot of them
for Mowlid it totally different and for Achoura is amazing
change your traditional ways to celebrate your own holidays not you religion

I would like to add that what makes a Christian, Muslim, etc. in MY OPINION is not what you celebrate but what you believe what is right.

As an Atheist - I have taken this path believing this is the right way for me... LOL some might say "yeah the right way to hell" but we shall see when death visits me on my final day.
