Is it normal to wish my teachers were my parents

I like my real parents, but if I were to meet them out of context, not knowing them as parents, I don't think I would like them at all!! Whereas, my teacher at school and his wife who also teaches me and I really like both of them, I spend every spare minute with the and in all honestly, I have never liked a couple of people more in my life, we like the same things, they inspire me...... In conclusion, I just really wish they could adopt me! Is this normal, does anyone even actually understand what I'm talking about?...!!??

I feel the same way! 4

And if they adopted you and had to assume the role of parents, you wouldn't like them any more.

    Oh no, you don't.

My dad was a college professor. I love the man dearly, but he never shuts it with the lessons. You can't ask him a simple question about the weather forecast without hearing a detailed diatribe on meteorological patterns and global warming. Do I feel like learning about sedimentary rock formations at like 4 am, on the way to the airport? Fuck no, I don't. Do I give a shit about whether or not the Australian economy is sufficiently autonomous from china? Can't say that I do.

Having a teacher for a parent leads to unnecessary learning. Everyone hates learning! It's for nerds.

I would love that. Your dad can talk to me anytime. I would love to know more about geology and weather...so interesting.

I'm totally joking, except for the airport thing...that seriously is annoying.

I can completely understand this. I've had many helpful, wonderful, caring teachers that I wouldn't have minded being my parents (though I'm satisfied with ones I currently have). However, not all of those awesome teachers (would have) made great parents. Some have even had a falling out with their children for numerous reasons (my teachers sometimes tell me too much about their lives...).

I guess what I'm saying is that a teacher's professional life may be much better than their personal one, but the teachers you have sound like awesome people and I can see why you'd want them as parents.

Maybe yor right :( I didn't think about that, although my parents have absolutely nothing I common with me and they are real bullies....
