Is it normal to wish my boyfriend was more affectionate?

I've been with my boyfriend for over three months now, and he's like a complete brick wall emotionally. I try being affectionate towards him, and I get very little in return. I know he cares about me, I guess it's just not normal for him, as he's never had a boyfriend before and he's not used to it yet. I feel that I'm being silly about this, but it bothers me and I'm not sure what to do. Is it normal? Should I do/say something?

Are you a gay couple? You should Feel at liberty to talk to him about it... He may not even realise he is being like that... Communication is the moat vital thing in a relationship!

    • We are, and I realize communication is important, but I feel like I'm being too needy and just end up pushing away. I don't even know how I would bring it up.

Has he been that way since you've met him? It is interesting that you jumped into a relationship with someone you weren't getting affection from in the first place.
If someone was acting like that right off the bat I'd assume they weren't really even into me.

Yea, if it's first boyfriend.. He doesn't really know the ropes yet. So talk to him!
