Is it normal to wish i was disfigured somehow?

Is it normal to wish I was disfigured somehow? Like a crippled leg or a missing finger or a missing eye? Sort of like House, a damaged genius. Only one disfigurement though, I wouldn't want to be drastically handicapped. If I was disfigured, I wouldn't use anything to make myself look normal. If I lost an eye I would just wear an eye patch, or if I lost a finger I wouldn't buy a cosmetic replacement. Just to set me apart from others and give me a conversation starter? I wouldn't do it to myself, but let's just say if I lost an eye in a fishing accident I wouldn't be too bummed out... Thanks.

What a sorry life you lead if you'd even think about going that far for some attention. Pretty pathetic.

Sorry, I can't really control it. Sort of hard to explain, it's just that I've felt this way ever since I was little. It's not really for attention, it's just what my brain thinks. Also, I wouldn't "go that far." Like I said, I wouldn't do it to myself. Please don't call people pathetic.

I believe what you mean is that you are curious as to what it would be like to have a disfigurement? Seeing what it would be like is different than wanting to live with one forever.

Lost an eye? You won't ever able to see 3D movie ever.

Like House? How about you act it out or pretend? You can superglue your fingers and pretend it's deformed.

Be different? You can do any of these: Keep long hair (if you are male), long nails, etc

Or Be the most generous person on earth, most philanthropy, kindest, keep 100 dogs, adopt 5 kids, etc

Get an ugly tattoo. It looks disfiguring, but you can cover it with clothes.

I understand that you want to stand out, but wishing for disfigurement really isn't the way. If you had one, you may find yourself longing for the life you had before. Furthermore, you may not get the kind of attention you desire. People can be cruel towards those who look different.

To anyone reading this thinking "wow, what a weirdo" I have been diagnosed with no mental illnesses (besides very mild anxiety) and am a fully functioning member of society. No one knows this besides me and whoever reads this, and I plan to keep it that way. As I've stated, I wouldn't do this to myself. It's just something I think about and sometimes think would be better. Sorry if I have offended any disabled person, this is just what I think would make my life better. And thanks dinz, I read about BIID and although I don't want a whole limb amputated (that would me too disabling) just a small part of me, like a finger or messed up leg. Please no insulting comments, I'm pretty sure I have a real and somewhat rare problem.
