Is it normal to wish i had internet friends?

Well, I have lots of friends offline, but they all know I love to go online constantly and it would be nice to have just one person to talk to while I'm online. The problem is I'm a little awkward and shy even when I'm not it person. I would just love to have an online friend and even skype them and tell them my real name. We could be online besties and maybe someday, if I feel REALLY brave, meet in person. Is it normal to want friends online in addition to offline friends?

    It's pretty easy, depending on what sites you use... Especially if they are online games, because then you have at least that 1 thing in common with them.

      I already have those but because of my lack of Internet friends, I want some. It's just another way to meet people.
