Is it normal to wear upwards of 30+ bandaids at a time

I’m 23 and a guy and I live in Alaska. When I was 17 I lost my foot to an infection when it got caught by a game trap. Ever since then I’ve had an INTENSE fear of infection.
To combat this fear I put a band aid on /every/ injury I ever get, but take no extra precautions to prevent injuries. I do a lot of outdoor stuff and rock climb as a hobby, so I get roughed up pretty frequently.
As of typing this I have 16 bandaids on my hands and about 10 other ones on my knees, elbows, and shins, 1 on my nose cause I got clipped by a rock.
My brother thinks it’s offputting to girls and that it make sure me look like a blistering junkie

Bandaids aren't going to prevent infection. Cleaning the wound properly will.

Sounds like you need to go see someone about this fear that is overtaking your life.

This reads like a troll, but just incase.

    • I definitely clean my wounds very well but that isn’t as obvious to people as wearing bandaids is, that’s why I’m asking about that
      Thanks though

    • And not to sound like some triggered bitch. But what exactly reads this as a troll post? I’ve made a post before that mentioned my situation and that was also called a “troll post”
I really fucking hope you aren’t considering me a liar because to you, having an amputation is suuuuch a craaazy thing. It’s pretty fucking common.
Im getting sick of everybody on this site labeling posts as “trolls” even when they’re insanely tame. I. Wear. Bandaids. How the hell is that interesting enough to be lied about?

If you're a regular on this site, then you should understand that the plague of trolls has caused most sensible people to be on their toes about it. So you can thank the idiots.

What makes me think possible troll is that someone who has suffered a traumatic injury would do nothing as a precaution to injuring themselves seriously again, and thinks that putting bandaids on everything isn't odd.

Now, I fully understand that trauma presents itself in very strange ways, and while I think it would be fantastic that a person wouldn't let an injury hold them back from the rest of their life, it still strikes me as odd that this is the manifestation that has taken place. More commonly, people would be wary of placing themselves somewhere with the chance of physical harm rather than thinking a bandaid would be the solution.

You know the phrase bandaid solution? It sounds like a post playing off of that. So at least it would be a clever troll post rather than, "I'd rather shit my pants than use a portapotty and no one noticed" or, "I scream at everyone and I don't know why they hate me, pumpkin spice".

So I apologise if I judged you unfairly, but those are my reasons for being suspicious. If you're serious then, again, I suggest seeing someone, because your behaviour is abnormal, potentially to the point of affecting your social life in a negative way.

If you don't care about its impact on your social life, it still seems like a behaviour that needs its underlying cause addressed, but if you don't think it impacts your life...whatever.

However, in that case, I don't know why you'd make a post about it.

Did you know, that Michael Jackson actually wore band-aids on the tips of his fingers sometimes? And rapper Nelly used to wear a band-aid on his cheek as a trademark? I don't know how this is related to your post, but I just had to bring that up...

I do think the Band-Aids would be off-putting. Not very attractive. And I don't think that that's going to help anything. Maybe you need to be more informed and find out what causes serious infections.

Clean the wounds and put on a bandaid if you have wounds. Bandaids aren't a bad thing and your brother is being irrational.
