Is it normal to wear toilet paper instead of pantyliners?

Ever since I started going through puberty, I've had a problem with discharge. I really just don't like the feeling of everything being all wet down there (and I think I juice more than normal). At first I would wear pantyliners, but after a while I realized that I was going through 4-5 of them a day, and my family isn't all that rich so I switched to TP. Now I fold up a couple of squares of toilet paper and just place it in my panties. IIN? Also, is it healthy? I read somewhere that it can cause yeast infections. TFYT.

I would use a brawny paper towel.

You can get like 100 pantyliners for $5 or less.

If that's too rich for your blood, they do make washable/reusable pads.

Common sense would say that the risk in doing this is that the TP won't keep the moisture away from your skin like a pad would, in fact it would do quite the opposite and literally have you stewing in it, so there'd be more risk of getting an infection. You want to be as breathable and dry as possible down there.
