I've been given a promise ring, and the concept is the same. It's not stupid, it's serious and meaningful. Even if it signals you're a virgin, it doen't mean you have no balls. It means you care, and want to be faithful to your bf/gf. I keep mine on my hand everyday and live my life for her.
