Is it normal to watch trees?

Is it normal to stare at a tree all afternoon just on the off-chance that it might start moving? I've never seen one move but I'm afraid that if I look away, the tree will start walking but I'll miss it and will never know. Is this normal?

If a tree started walking, I wouldn't have to be staring at it to notice.

Plants do move as they grow. Look up "plant growth time lapsed". Trees don't walk. Look up "tree spirits". The place where they have begun to grow, will stay their home for as long as they live. However, people sadly do chop down trees and powerful storms can break or uproot them. They don't walk away, but when they are threatened, there sensory goes somewhere else. (You should read,"The Secret Life of Plants". I think that you'll really enjoy it. :) ) If you transplant them before their root systems have been allowed to grow deep, it will be one way to move them. You can also emotionally move them. (It's in the book)

Reminds me of the scene in Poltergeist where the big tree comes alive and almost swallows a kid. Good stuff.

  • Don't listen to them, those trees are sneaky bastards. They stroll around all the time! they even talk to me sometimes and when I go like "What?!" they act like nothing happened!

Yes, trees have huge roots, they definitely will walk around your backyard..... O_O No, trees do not just magically grow legs and walk around.... the only movement you will see in trees is the wind blowing through the branches and leaves, other than that.. no.

its normal to spend hours gazing at a tree and its beauty- it release stress and put things in propotion. Every night I sit on my balcony and gaze at the stars. it's a way of self cleansing but it's not normal to think you are gonna see the tree move. There are philosphers who talk about this- space, time and all of that but I would advice you just to see the thing for what it is and be fascinated by its beauty.
