Is it normal to watch myself sleep in "dream"?

I recently had a very odd dream in which I was walking through my house (where my grandmother, my father, and myself were all staying at the time), and I went from room to room and looked down on each person sleeping. In my dream I thought I was just walking to each room. Then I got to my room and noticed someone in my bed! Then noticed I was actually floating. So I floated over my bed and looked down to see myself laying there on my side with eyes and mouth wide open and the veins bulging out on the temple of the side of my head. VERY weird!! I thought I was dead! So I made myself "fly" down back into my body in an attempt to revive myself, and then I awoke. Was it a dream? I still don't know what exactly happened that night.

Look up "O.B.E or Outer Body Experience" and "Lucid Dreaming".

Thats an astral projection experience. Pretty cool, it took me a long time to experience one. You can AP and literally go anywhere in the world, if you ever get back into that state again then fly through the roof, i promise you wont regret it :-)

I've had many strange sleep experiences. Only once have I had an out of body experience, and it scared the shit out of me.

I find it hard to believe you were so easily able to control this dream. People spend years getting to that level. I suppose you are talented.

You had an out-of-body experience lucid dream.
    It is normal.

Do you often wake up with sleep paralysis?

As a matter of fact I have a lot here recently. What is it it that I don't know about the connection between the two?
