Is it normal to watch horror games?

I love horror movies and I've pretty much seen all there is, even the low budget ones. Since I've run out of movies to watch, I've been watching survival horror games. It's pretty much the same but seems way more realistic. Is this normal?

  • I took a look at the new "The Evil Within" game coming out and it looks interesting. I was a bit disapointed when part of it involved the same-old resident evil feel, which is large groups of zombie/monsters break in to a house where you are holding out and you have to shoot them. I want a horror game that is more about sneaking rather than gun blazing.

Either way, it looks interesting. Check it out.

If you like horror, I would suggest Amnesia. Good game.

Heck yeah, nothing wrong with watching someone else's decisions in their interactive horror movie.

I'm really enjoying Dashie's playthrough of Outlast. His Youtube is DashieGames; he is one of the funniest LP's.

    More realistic?

    No.

But plenty of people enjoy watching Let's Play... videos, no reason why survival horror wouldn't be included.

Personally I prefer playing the games, since I find any sense of horror or anxiety is far greater when I'm the one in control.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is a great one. Though in my case I am much more obsessed with the characters (Daniel and Alexander) rather than the horror elements.
