Is it normal to watch disney movies at the age of 18?

When I was a little boy, I loved watching the disney films. I mostly watched them in the winter by the fireplace. This time of year there was nothing else to do. They ment so much to me. I am now 18 years old and still watch those films today. My dad is a good person, and I respect him, but he is such a kill joy sometimes. He wont let me watch those films when he is around. He says its inmature of me to watch such childish things. I ignore that attitude and watch those films when he is not around. I still am attatched to those films. Should I still watch them occasionaly? Is this behavior normal?

Doesn't matter what age you are, those Disney movies will always be enjoyable. Ya, this is definitely common.

It's totally fine! Whether it's 'normal' or not! I'm not into Disney but I love cartoons! I'm 25! Special effects can only do so much but in cartoons the possibilities are endless! I even named my son after a cartoon character! And got him into the same things! As a girl I've met most of my best friends through love of cartoons! The things we love makes us more interesting people!

I'm 40 and occasionally watch animated movies as well as the cartoons I grew up with. Some of those toons were made for adults.

I see nothing wrong with it-I also watch 'adult' shows/movies as well. You live once, you should enjoy life-do whatever you like so long as you're not hurting others.

    They are classics.
I'm a big fan of the Golden Age of Animation. 1928 - 1960s. I just marvel at the work of hand drawn animation. To me it is alot more human, authentic and labour intensive than digital. It has love in it.

I'm 19. I still love cartoons and animations. They usually have more depth, better visuals, and more character development than mainstream movies. So hell yeah!!

walt disney himself said it best: "You're dead if you aim only for kids. Adults ar e
only kids grown up, anyway." disney movies arent just for kids, theyre meant for everyone to enjoy! Hell, im almost 21 and i still watch cartoons. Toy story was one of my favorite movies growing up and still is.

many cartoons have a lot of jokes and humor that appeal to adults, and/or have a good storyline and well done characters. those jokes also rarely get noticed by kids ( like when woody calls buzz " mr. light beer") . Plus, cartoons are great for relieving stress.

Of course its normal. Think about this, "Who makes the movies?" Certainly not kids! Grown adults are making these movies. Grown adults are voicing the characters to these silly cartoons. Heck, even Walt Disney himself was a grown man making Mickey Mouse and Snow white. A grown man dreamed of creating these cartoons and now he has this channel and these movies named after him and created in his style. I am 19 and I watch cartoon all the time. Idc what people think and I don't think I will ever stop. Adult t.v. Shows are sometimes to much drama for me... They are usually about fights and break ups and sad things that i really don't want to see. I have enough drama in my life, why would I want to watch more drama in my free time? Disney movies and cartoons are a nice way to get some happiness in your life and to escape your reality or even get the magic back into your own life. They are filled with life lessons and mature humor. In aladdin, there is a moment when the genie talks about picking out curtains and quotes one of Shakespeare plays and I am pretty sure 3 year olds are to young to have read shakespeare so those jokes are for adults viewers. Your father is a douche and hes being unrealistic. I am pretty sure there are some things he might do that could be labeled as immature. I mean he is picking on you about something you like so that in my opinion is immature. He needs to grow up and learn that not everyone is going to like the same thing he likes. What a jerk. Enjoy your disney movies!

I'll be honest. I am a huge fan of movies made for the younger audience these days. I would even say childrens movies like disney, pixar, dreamworks, ect, are the only thing Hollywood does right.

Children movies are deep. WAAAY deep. Today they are full of compassion, heart warming tales, adventure, love, comedy, literally everything that makes a great film. And they fit in a positive and wonderful message to the film almost every time. Watching Dreamworks films is like taking a thrilling philosophy class! It's like an escape to a utopia when I see these movies.
    And I can't even count how many times a dreamworks movie has made me tear up. Those guys know how to make a man cry ;__;

and of course, the adult movies are horrible. They are brain cell killing piles of garbage filled with sexy actors with no talent.

    Movies like
    Ice Age
    Hotel Transylvania
    Finding Nemo
    The Croods
    Madagascar

Everyone can learn something from movies like that.
