Is it normal to wash my rectum?

We've owned a bidet for about twenty years. It sprays warm water into your genitals or rectum and gets you clean. Except when I take a shower, I soap up the cheeks of my behind and let my soapy index finger enter my rectum up to the second knuckle. It feels good and I know it absolutely gets me squeeky clean. At the same time, I shave my scrotum.
