Is it normal to wanting to ask your tutor out?

Hey everyone,
I have a tutor for Chemistry who I think is the nicest person I could possibly know and I like him a lot. I want to ask him out, maybe when the semester is over but I am still a little hesitant. Firstly, like I said he is my tutor and it could make things a little weird, because chances are he is going to be my tutor next semester as well. Secondly, I wear a hijab and I feel like that's a huge no no for a lot of guys, especially if they are not of the same religion and he is not. I just want to have coffee with him and he seems so caring and so sweet. Even if he says no, I know it is better than not knowing at all whether he would have liked to go out with me, but like I said, still a little hesitant.
I would love to hear people's opinions and would appreciate respectful comments. Thanks a lot :)

I can't see a problem asking him out, but I have to ask; to what end?
If I am not mistaken, you cannot take a husband unless he is of your faith, correct?
What if you two fall in love? Would you ask him to join you in your faith, or would you give up yours?
I am not being mean, only asking you to think it through.

Yeah, this is normal. I wouldn't stress over it to much. The worst that could happen is him saying no. Not that he will, but it's not a big deal.

Seems contradictory that a hijabi girl would ask a guy out when even most liberated women will wait for a guy to make a move first.

Haha thanks a lot for all your opinions. @gypsysailor, lol you cracked me up. I wasn't thinking if going that far. Like I said, it was just going to be coffee. @YourMomSaysHello, like I said I do feel like the hijab is a no no for many people, but believe it ir not, a few if my friends (hijabis) are actually seeing guys who are not of our faith, so I think times have definitely changed and so have people. Anyways, once again, thanks a lot!

I looked up "hijab" on google and, honestly i can say it really is a no no. It gives women a chaste look that isn't attractive to most guys.
