Is it normal to want water all the time?

Im always thirsty for water. No matter how much I drink I still need more. If I go too long without drinking any and actually really get thirsty I start to panic and feel like I'm on drugs which results in a mini panic attack. I could drink a full glass of nice cold water and feel like I haven't had any at all and need to drink more. Is this at all atleast somewhat normal?

I'd get checked for diabetes pretty soon if I were you.

How much water are you drinking per day? Do you do anything that made dehydrate you (eat too much salt, drink alcohol, excessive exercise)? Have you spoken to your doctor? Without getting into unnecessary detail, some illnesses are characterised by excessive thirst.

P.S. I'm not saying you're ill. Just that it does no harm to check.

  • WAIT! it just dawned on me that I do actually have diarrhea quite often. I've been to the ER for that (I was puking and having diarrhea several times a day for Weeks) the doctors found nothing wrong besides slight dehydration and high blood pressure. On the way out the nurse suggested me being so ill could be related to the birth control I was on. I then realized,I didn't get sick until I got the depo shot. I obviously didn't get anymore depo shots and still feel sick alot but not AS sick. now I just puke alot during my lady time. I'm not on BC because I have negative reactions no matter what type it is. I've told doctors this but they dismiss it and send me home.

  • I do drink a beer before bed to help me sleep.. But other than that can't think of anything to make me so thirsty. I recently realized I drink about a gallon a day. Where we live now our, water is hard so now that we buy our water ive noticed how much I'm actually drinking. I used to eat alot of salt but after discovering my cholesterol was extremely high and im only 23 I cut back tremendously on salt. I've been tested for diabetes actually and don't have it. All I can think of is im anemic and on a ”diet” but I doubt that'd make me thirsty. Well I'm not actually on a diet, more like I'm just never hungry. Since ive been slacking on taking my vitamins and iron I feel like crap all the time and.can't eat. Hmmm,I also don't drink milk and consume large amounts of very strong coffee in the morning. I dont know. Mess much? Lol
