Is it normal to want to try pet food?

I work at a animal boarding facitlity. Sometimes when I'm feeding I get the urge to try a dog treat/wet food because it smells really good. I tried a tiny bite of a treat one time ( the beef strips) and it was salty as hell and didn't even taste like meat. I spat it out, ugh. Don't think I'm gonna try the wet stuff after that. Haha

I tried cat and dog food when I was younger and kind of liked them.

However, DO NOT try eating dog toothpaste like I did. It will make you feel nauseous and doesn't even taste like beef X6

I once tried dog an cat food. It was the biscuit kind and it REALLY dries out your mouth-makes it hard to swallow. I haven't tried wet food though...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's normal. Actually, a few years ago, I tasted those bacon beggin' strips with a friend. Both of us agreed that they defintely don't taste as good as they smell.

cat food smells and looks so disgusting! That's why in my family we even had a designated spoon for it.

I ate guinea pig treats, but those treats were made put of yogurt and the guinea pigs were lactose intolerent so they couldn't eat them.

In my country, it's actually tested by humans so I guess it's safe to eat. I don't think it's pleasant, though.

Both my sisters ate the hard cat food when they were young. They kept eating it until my parents punished them. If you throw up, blame yourself.

I did when I was a kid. It's not good haha. It's also bad idea, dogs in particular can handle bacteria levels not safe for humans. Canines are scavengers by nature.

No! Don't do it! When I was young my friend ate dry cat food, it's just wrong.
