Is it normal to want to totally fuck things up
I am a nuclear power plant operator and have been thinking of leaving my job due to this urge. I would never do something stupid. however I am Uncomfortable that this could blossom in to a problem.

I am a nuclear power plant operator and have been thinking of leaving my job due to this urge. I would never do something stupid. however I am Uncomfortable that this could blossom in to a problem.
I also work in an industry that can be potentially hazardous or dangerous. I am also terrified that one day something will go terribly wrong. This is why we need to continue to develop our technologies. Should you have an idea (even a negative one), that might help to improve a technology, you should share this. It is unfortunate that in our current society, many brilliant ideas go un-noticed or un-developed because either the person who thought of it keeps it to themself, perhaps thinking they will patent it sometime in the future, or is complacent, or the management is not conducive to this.
What we need, is a global system that rewards people who have new and/or improved, better or different ideas.
Can you tell us some things about the type of plant you work in and what you could do? Joe Public has a right to know, and all that.
Wow... I was about to post I think that is hilarious cause I'm the same way at my job but your job is serious that is not funny at all, but yes that is normal... as long as your aware of what is then your good man
Wow, hit submit. Not with out disabling ( or however you spell it) the auto SCRAM. That's illegal and would alert the authority.
It is a 4 reactor plant ( i run reactor 3). You could force a incomplete SCRAM. Not overly bad but could cause damage in the reactor in the upper 100,000s. Over spin the turbine etc. etc. no chernobyl. Not
