It's certainly better than Saruman or Bilbo. Aragorn was a king who was part of the fellowship of the ring and ended up with a elven princess. He was awesome. Go for it!
I quite like a name from another fantasy series...I'd love to use it if I have a daughter, but I do worry she'd get teased. Not cos anyone would know the book the name's from, just because I don't think it's a real name.
This also reminds me of Tripod's song "On behalf of all the geeks"
"On behalf of all the geeks/I'd just like to say/I've been telling you all along/That Lord of the Rings was cool.../Now you'll all do as I did/You'll name your first child Bilbo"
Aragorn is a better bet than Bilbo, though. We all know what would happen to a child named Bilbo...
Well guess what?
it's pretty normal~!
i wanna name my kid (if i ever have one..)
Ryuzaki from death note..it sounds cool.XD
Or,Niles...
it's a baby Matt and Near have...yeah i roleplay Matt from death note...Nears the mom.8D
Haha, yes, it's normal ... nerdy, but (me being a fellow LOTR nerd) I would personally love it.
Seriously. I considered naming a kid, if I have one, Eowyn. XD
But a piece of advice: you probably shouldn't. Just in case he grows up surrounded by ridicule.
Hope this helps. :)
i strongly recommend you dont, you could be screwing up your kid for life and make him or her be bullied and ridiculed, maybe get a pet and name them aragorn or something.
Yeah. I told my almost sister in law to name her kid Frodo but she miscarried. I even had a facebook for it.
Its a really nice name, minus king of all men
that kid will be picked on to no end
I don't know what happened there. It was supposed to come out Anyena-Renee (the Y with a squiggly line and one of the Es in Renee had a straight line pointing upwards).
In the end, it's up to you what you name your child. No one can tell you what to do. At the same time though, be careful not to get too creative with name-choosing, in case your child was to become a target for bullies. But I have heard of unusual names. Whether it's Apple, Kauni, Maki or Jaleb. I even have a little cousin called An%%u1EF9ena-Renée. So like I say, in the end it's up to you. But still, choose carefully, because one day it'll be too late to change your mind.
Normal, more than slightly nerdy.
He'd probably get made fun of....even if it is kinda a cool name, from a fellow sort-of nerd :)
