My boyfriend's ex is absolutely beautiful. She has the different rare kind of beauty. She has full lips and big gorgeous green eyes. Every time I see a picture of her it makes me happy and want to be better to myself. I even have a few pictures of her saved just so I can note her amazing fashion sense or makeup methods. Is it normal to want to meet and befriend her?

    By the sound of it you want to meet her because you admire her. The only reason that I would look at this predicament as weird is because there is a mentality circulating society that exes are suppose to despise each other. However, you don't seem to harbor any hatred for your boyfriend's ex, you simply admire her. Admiration is normal.

    This is so unhealthy and abnormal, and not just because "exes are supposed to despise each other". It's weird to have such admiration for someone you've never met, specifically because they are beautiful and stylish, and to have such an inferiority complex that "it makes you want to better yourself". You're looking at this girl like a celebrity and it's not healthy. As a psychology student, it sounds to me like this is actually an internalised jealousy - you feel jealous and inferior to her, so you focus your attentions on making her "safe" (by befriending her) and making yourself more like her.
