Is it normal to want to jump into my best friends arms?

My best friend and I have kown eachother for a long time. We are very close to each other and I think of him as my big brother (we are both male). He recently got a job, and I havn't seen hyde nor hair from him in eight months. Is it normal to want to go over to his house and spend all day wraped up in his arms and just lay there and talk all day long?
