Is it normal to want to go to rural china?

I've wanted to go to a lot of places in my life. I am looking forward to go to New Zealand for college, start my career there, also, maybe, then go to Japan to work for studio Ghibli and make my own manga and anime, while also writing for the American market.
But one of my other goals is to go and live in rural China in one of the tiny villages that plant rice and stuff for year. I'm doing research on it, and ever since my Chinese teacher showed us a video of how they live I have wanted to have that experience. Is this normal?

Don't go complaining afterwards about how "I went to China and Chinese are sooo(negative stereotype)" In that case we don't want u here either.

But best of luck you'll have a nice experience!

"Rice and stuff". Yeah, more research is definitely needed. But good luck and safe travels. God speed, over and out.
