I recently started seeing the guy I dated in high school, we lost our virginity together and stayed friends after breaking up. does it make sense to get back together or is it one of those first love things and I need to move on? we've both seen other people over the past 4 years but I've always seen myself marrying him..is this normal?
I recently got back together with my first love 7 yrs since the break up. She told me she has never felt the same love for anyone since, and i was the same. However, time has a way of changing people. I think we both desired that point in time, that fleeting moment of youthful innocence. I naively mistook my urge to be blissfully ignorant in love with a desire to get back together. I found the inevitable changes In the two of us were to drastic to be compatible as a couple.
My advice is to pursue a relationship. If it works out, great. If not, you won't have to wonder what might have been. I know i'm more at peace having followed that road.
Certainly worth a shot, you know for a fact that you 2 at least got along well at one point. I would say your ahead of the game just because of that.
Yes ma'am, its pretty normal. I know a couple that are almost 50 years old. They were highschool sweethearts and they got back together a few years ago. Go for it. And like you did, its always best to break up in a civil way. Usually that doesn't happen because young people can be crazy, but I say go for it :)
