Is it normal to want to enduce a lucid dream?

My friend got me hooked on the idea of controlling your own dreams. I wake up via alarms to write down my dreams in a journal, because it is the first step to better controlling of dreams (supposedly). Is it normal to want this?

P.s. If you set alarms, you can wake up from having up to 11 or 12 dreams at night. You only remember the last one(s) and the ones you wake up from..

Lucid dreams are so great. So much power. Try it.

I've had a few just from realising it's a dream when in the middle of the dream, out of the blue (I've also tried other techniques like wake-induced to no avail). One of the times, I wasn't sure I was dreaming, so I did a 'reality check' by looking at my hands and they looked wrong so I knew I was dreaming.
However, I've always woken soon after this (though I'm improving- the last time was the longest, yet still only less than a minute). I haven't managed to do any proper controlling yet though.

I want to experience it too, but don't know how to trigger it. When in doubt, Google it out!

Oh man, I would LOVE to experience one. The closest I've ever been is answering one question in a dream and then waking up immediately afterwards.

I had my first one accidently but the second one occurred a few days later after I had been reading a lot about them and talking to my friend about it. I've had about 10 altogether, the last one I had was about 2 week ago actually and it is the longest one I've had to date, I find it really hard to stay asleep once a dream turns lucid.

  • Me too! :D I read another tip online. It said to write an "A" on your arm/wrist. (Stands for awake) Whenever you see this during the day do a reality check. You could do reality checks whenever you see a dream sign too I suppose. It seems like a bit of work but I think it'll be worth it. :D
