Is it normal to want to die because of a loved one?

I'm a girl and I think I might be in love with my friend, but she is also a girl. I know I will never be with her because she's straight and she is in love with this guy. I've lost all hope and don't know what to do. I really feel like killing myself because of this even tough I know it would be a pointless reason. Is it possible that the feeling of love could cause this or am i really just confused or whatever?

Of course it's normal. It's jut your feelings are getting ahold of it. I was like that with my first love. It sucks. It's been almost 2 years and I'm still getting over him. Plus, he's part of my whole 'depression.' Don't worry, everythig will get better, I've been in your shoes. Smilee. :)

  • I feel bad for you. I think you should love yourself first, then love other people. Everyone one (straight, gay, or something else) wants their love to be reciprocated: you are not alone. Most of the time, our feelings are not matched by the people we have crushes on, and we have to learn to deal with that heartache and move on until one day someone does love us back.

Trust me: you WILL find someone one day who is going to love you back with their entire heart/soul, and it will feel so amazing (it will be one of the greatest natural highs of your life). Don't die because of one person; the sacrifice would never be worth it and you would be cheating yourself out of the opportunity to experience a loving relationship one day.

To protect your fragile heart right now, I would suggest limiting your contact with your girl friend for a while, until your intense feelings subside a little more. Good luck and hang in there.

i would say its normal for you to feel like you've lost all hope, but i wouldn't kill myself. you sound young, so there is still time for you to find another woman who you can have as many feelings for or maybe even more. don't miss out on a promising future with another beautiful being because of what you are feeling now. you are given such a large amount of time on this earth that way you are able to live a full life filled with oppotunities, experiences, and relationships. stay strong, you'll find the one. who knows, she could secretly be into girls too.

It's totally normal. You feel like you can't possibly live without that person, so you don't want to live.
It may sound psycho, but I feel like that a lot when I go through a break up, or when you realize someone doesn't love you back. It's the worst feeling in the world. But believe it or not, you always heal.

It's definitely normal I went through that with my first girlfriend I actually drove my car into a telephone pole to try and do it. But all it did was cause a whole lot of trouble with my family thinking I can't drive. I never told anyone I did it on purpose. Besides I got over it and realized how ridiculous I was being. You'll get through it

Wow, this is honestly so sad. :( I kinda know how you feel, (though I'm a guy).

if your feelings for her aren't going to go anywhere, you should just move on. it's normal to feel like there's no hope, but suicide is never the answer. it's a permanent solution to a temporary problem. maybe you should talk to a counselor about this?

The Smiths made a living off writing songs about this, so it MUST be normal.
