Is it normal to want to date people from out of town?

I'm not sure why, but I've always felt weird when considering dating people that I've known. People that I grew up with or see almost daily. When I think about it, the only women that really interest me are those that I've only recently met or don't get to see much. I think it has to do with the level of personal interaction. Does anybody else feel like this?

    Yes, I know exactly how you feel.
    I've had 32 boyfriends, I met 29 of them on facebook and I met them all. I didnt like being with someone from school or anything like that, for some reason it just feels...awkward

    So I meet people online or if I go to the mall and someone catches me eye or I catch their eye.
    I just cant date anyone in my own town. I just feel weird..I dont understand it either
