Is it normal to want to date a 16/17 year old?

I'm not sure why I want to do this, maybe because I was an outcast in high school, or maybe I'm just messed up in the head, but I want to hang out with and date a chick that is either 16 or 17 years old (most might agree that age they are compitent and aware, any younger is a child to me). I am not looking for anything sexual, the furthest I want would be making out (it may be hard NOT to cross that line, but that is my intent). Oh, I am 28 years old and the youngest I've been with, sexually or otherwise, is 19. I live in California, and under 18 is a big no-no here, although, I believe other states/countries have different laws and views. Any thoughts?

    If you fell for a girl who happened to be 16/17, I could understand.

    But you're talking about no girl in particular, you just want to go after girls in their mid teens :/

    So it does seem kinda odd, without knowing the motivation. What about 16/17 year olds appeals to you? What do you think sets them apart from a 20 year old, or a 28 year old, outside of the physical differences?

      I'm not sure about the reasons/motivations for this. The best I can figure is that it stems from either 1) my feeling that I missed out on this part of my teens, or 2) My maturity level doesn't seem to align with older females.

    When I was 18, my fellow 18 year olds looked like adults to me. If I look at 18 years olds now, being 28, they don't look like adults. They look like kids.

    You sure are putting yourself in danger zone so don't: IT IS FINE TO ADMIRE TEENS BUT NEVER TOUCH OR DATE THEM OR EVEN BOTHER WITH THEM AT THAT AGE: Too risky mate: Sure 1 19 year is equally as nice and beautiful who has the same features as the 16/17 year old hasL Beauty at it's best so why have such a need when you know in Calafornia it is not legal: any 28 year old worth his salt is a responsible thinging mature resposibile normal male: wanting to build relationships with younger women/men that goes for the 28 year old female who may want the same thing

    Attraction to teenagers that age isn't abnormal, and isn't pedophilia by any stretch or relation. I say you are normal. However, you should keep your hands off anyone below the age of consent, and I would advise anyone who is still doing their education NOT to have sex with ANYONE. Should you act on it, you will get into HUGE trouble. Being that you are older than them by over 3 years, you will be charged with a felony if you have sex with them, and considering that you can't control yourself, you should stay away from them. Let them finish their education and leave them alone until they're self-sufficient.

    I think she'd turn you down 'cause 28's too old IMO... I have girls this age as mutual friends and they only act mature. I'd advise against intentionally pursuing them 'cause they'll just get hurt.

    Age of consent in the UK is 16, I still wouldn't get with a school girl as it is just weird.

    Well, your cell mate will probably be quite happy to have a young 28 or 29 year old bitch at his beck and call, too. Things are not as they were when I was your age; 16 will get you 20 years, these days.

      Really? Where on this planet is that the law? I'm not trying to be rude, but California is relatively strict on this subject and I think the absolute max sentence is 3-4 years. In about half the states, the age of consent is 16, so completely legal.

      On top of that, if you look at my post carefully, you'll notice that I said I WASN'T looking for anything sexual.
