Is it normal to want to bring a friend who doesn't know much about music up to date on music now?
My friend does that to me, cos i dont know the chart music and whats new, but i find it annoying and insulting because she assumes that as i dont listen to the same music as her, i must be uneducated in music. yet she doesnt know or care about the music i listen to.
so to answer your question, i think its normal, but try to also listen and learn about the music your friend likes, you might find you like it too.

If you know up-to-date music, and they know others, then you're sorted.
