Is it normal to want to be in the military?

I'm still pretty young, and I already know in my heart that I NEED to be in the military to protect my loved ones. Is this normal?

just remember, joining means you may have to kill INNOCENT people JUST like your family wether or purpose or accident. if you cant accept that then dont join.

if you realy want to protect them get a gun and learn to use it and do the same for the rest of your family.

  • your responding to a craving a need to protect and serve. alot of people develope this need to be hero because they grew up in a dysfunctional environment or maybe school had too many bullies, whatever the case.

also the military is not just a career but a lifestyle multifaceted. meaning its not just health insurance and rentfree and free school.

honestly most of the marines i served with never made it to the free school, they stayed in or got married.

whatever decision you make remember are you doing it for recognition or are you doing it because it will make you happy.

i used to want to be a police officer, now i realize it is very dangerous and underpaid, and that i just wanted some sort of power and authority. That i wanted the status and social recognition.

you will end up doing what you want.
but make your motto .... "whatever it takes"

basically after the decision to join every decision following it will be for the military life.

    no drugs
no girlfriends they will just guilt trip you
no homies they never keep in touch

    but i can tell you
    the pros

a brotherhood for life some of the best friends you will meet in life is from usmc
(in any situtation trust your gut they wont be loyal just cause they are marines you still have to put effort into weeding out the douchebag steal your girl types)

training that will get you paid...
i know only airstation people get out and make hella money from having avionics experience about 25$ an hour contractors and they can even go over seas and make 300 a day.

    great insurance

great life experiences.... oh jeeze, my fav memories are from it. i mean alot of binge drinking so be careful or you will get busted down!

    and lost your pay...

it is normal to want to be it, you want routine and respect, which is what you will get there and when you come home to visit.

Going into the military isn't protecting your loved ones.

I think it's important for you to make an informed decision about something this important. The beat way to know for sure if this is what you want to do is to enlist your loved ones to help. Fill a backpack full of at least 15 bricks and put it on. Hand your loved one a gun and have them shoot at you so that you really can experience the military completely. If you still want to continue on this path afterwards, then go for it!

The best way to protect your loved ones would be to campaign against all politicians and captains of industry. However, if you feel the best way to protect your loved ones is to kill the loved ones of others, go for it.
