Is it normal to want to be a prostitute?

It is nothing like what you think. You will be spit on, stepped on, treated like dirt. You will service horrible "customers" and work for even more horrible bosses. Wouldn't you rather do something important? Leave your mark on people in a way that wasn't degrading and socially frowned upon? I don't know about you, but I want to do something important with my life. I want to change the world. Aspiring to be a sex toy, and object to be taken advantage of... Its unfathomable to me.

Seriously, if that's what you want to do, get into porn. Don't become a prostitute. At least porn is safer and you get to decide if you are comfortable with what you have to do on camera. I'm not into porn and that stuff, but saw a talk show once and porn girls were on it talking about what you don't see in porn that makes it less disgusting.

If you know what you want to do, no one can convince you otherwise. But consider porn instead. partofeveryone is right about prostitution. Forgot to mention the prospect of rape, though. Rape because they don't want to pay, rape because who will believe you, rape because you didn't want to do that sex act and they want you to.

Think it through. If sex is what you want to do for a living, at least choose the one that will be better for you.

If you want to be one, that's your choice, there is nothing wrong with having that choice. It's your body, you do what you want, I don't see anything wrong with it. However, don't assume that you'll have great looking sensible, kind hearted, treat you with respect customers. Sure, maybe some might be like that just wanting a good time, but I surely they will be the minority of your customers.
I think you wanting to do it is your choice, nothing wrong or good about it, but just remember that it won't be charming people you have as customers.

Also, don't serial killers usually go for prostitutes to be their victims? I don't know, I'm pretty sure they do...

Don't let all those comments about rude customers scare you off, if you go to work for the right kind of business it's not that bad. Private houses are a lot better than street prostitution.

Of course it's a bit weird to say to your family you want to become a prostitute. You haven't done so yet, but one day you have to and then it's better to know how you're going to say it. I did tell my parents I want to become a prostitute and eventough they were not completely happy they said I had to follow my dreams.

I think you're the one being misinformed. Yes, it's true what you say when it comes to street prostitutes, the lowest class in prostitution. But the more respected businesses are not that bad. Of course you got to work for your money, but that's the same in every job.

Ive seen several documentaries on sex workers who, guess what, actually enjoy what they do. If you're working for some back alley pimp or in a shady business, there will be rapes and nasty men and all that, but there are escort services and more legitimate businesses that protect their women and screen their clients.

However, the fact that you think this is all you can do concerns me. I don't know you but we all have our nautural strengths and weaknesses; find those and find the things you enjoy; you're too young to be sure of what you'll do for the rest of your life.

The real issue in his post is the fact that, in most places in America at least prostitution is illegal, which is why it's so dangerous. Legality would bring regulation and protection to sex workers, but too many conservatives have a stick up their ass. Let people who truly want to do sex work do it and do it safely.

If you ever get to be one your life will get harder and even if you decide not to be one anymore you wont just be able to take any job you like because many dont want a exprostitute working for them so you will be much much better of never considering it...
