Is it normal to want something, yet not?

I feel the sudden need to be with someone, human contact with a real person and yet at the same time being an introvert, I do not. Is it really possible to have 2 such conflicting feelings? A need to interact, yet a want to be recluse.

"Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself (I am large, I contain multitudes)." - Walt Whitman

I think it's very normal to have conflicting thoughts and feelings. It seems like there's this popular notion that as a human being, your mind is supposed to be completely concrete - you are on ONE side of any issue and you believe it passionately. You're either introverted or extraverted. Good or bad. Gay or straight. Smart or dumb. But I think that the human mind is much more complicated than that.

Yes. Wanting something and not acting on it is normal.

Damn right.. I always ended up contradicting myself because I can't sacrifice anything just to get that something. I always say that it's better to be like this, an introvert so that no one can possibly hurt me. But, the process is already giving you a thousand of pain. So, let yourself decide... Whichever way it is, we can't avoid being hurt.

Yes. It is normal. I loved the person whom I hated most...I know it sounds complicated but its true.

Yes. You crave love but don't want to be outgoing while being in such a state. I'm sure it'll all work out, I've seen introverted couples before.

Yep, it can get complicated, especially when you might have to sacrifice something to get something else.
