Is it normal to want someone to just say they care about me?

I know people care for me all the time, but it feels like no one really cares. Like they seem to only care because they have to but not because they want to. I just want one of my friends to say they care. is it normal to feel like this. Because I've been feeling really down lately.

Don't let this bring you down. God loves you and believes you are beautiful. He cares for you more than anything. And when you show God that you love him, he rewards you with great wisdom and happiness. Seek God and you will realize that there NEVER is a time when no one cares.

    Sorry you feel so down.
In the main it is probably up to you to a certain extent. You must show you care for others and then you will find that your caring is returned. Caring is about loving (not romantic) your fellow humans and wanting to make them feel good about themselves. Try to be cheerful and friendly when you meet others and when you talk to them, talk in terms of their interests and their concerns. Show them you are willing to help or advise them.
I am sure if you try this for a month or so, forgetting completely about yourself, you will be surprised at the response.
Unfortunately, we live in a world of rush and tear with ever changing concerns and problems. This makes people rather insincere. You know the stuff "Have a nice day" and "Take care" and "No problem" These words trip off the tongue easily but often mean nothing. Really good close friends are generally few and far between but are worth their weight in gold so they are worth befriending.
Anyway, just try what I have said. Start caring about others and you will be rewarded. If a friend or colleague has been away ill, make a point not just of saying "How are you? OK?" but offer some help and show that you care about them. "Can I do some shopping for you? Can I give you a lift home? I will ring you (or contact you) tomorrow to see how you are." And be sure to do this.
I care about you and I want to see you as a happy and popular person.

I say it's normal coz, human as we are, we tend to feel down from time to time, and wanting someone to show they care would be the greatest emotional boost.

  • Its normal to get the blues and want a friend to care for you. Do you think you could reach out a little bit and tell them how you feel? Smetimes, when blue, we crawl into our shells, and then are surprised no one notices.

The people who care are the people who call you, and are not returning your call, it's the people who ask how you are, and when you say crappy they ask why, and sincerely want to know. Everyone has moments like yours and feelings like yours from time to time. But it's important to not let it get the better of you. You're doing the right thing by talking about it. Help and advice is always all around you. Just remember, you're loved, believe that!

I wouldnt say its "normal" to feel like this, but many do from time to time. I think you could possibly going through some depression. If you have been feeling this way for more than a few weeks or months even, Id def agree you might want to go see a therapist or even your doctor. There are many things that can make you feel this way... Ive been there. Most people feel sad/depressed for a few days and then they move on, some people cant.

Find a psychiatrist on campus. I got only a psychiatrst but a therapitst (the most important price) and within a year I wad doing so much better. Use the resorces available. They really do work. Good luck!
