Is it normal to want sex multiple times a day...3x's or more?

When I'm in a relationship with a girl that I call my girlfriend and we are often sharing the same dwelling space, I don't fel like we must have sex, but I do feel like "why not". I have no problem talking, watching tv, playing Xbox, or just cuddling with my lady, but, I feel that if we are going to be in the same place for the day why do we have to sit and just look at each other? A woman that I call my girlfriend is more than just a piece of ass to me, but at the same time I wouldn't be with her if I didn't like the ass. I go out with my lady, I talk to my lady, I remember her birthday, I even ask her how her day went and how she feels sometimes. It's not like everytime I see her I expect sex, but when were laying around my crib or hers doing nothing, flipping through the channels, or she's complaining about watching me beat Ninja Gaiden, what else is there to do? Then she gets mad and starts talking about how the only kind of female I like is one who puts out. And in a way, she's right, but not completely. Is it wierd to want sex more than once or twice a day?
