Is it normal to want revenge for someone killing or hurting your famil

when i was six years old my uncle was going to baby sit me but my mother decided to let him have fun on his birthday that night he was walking a girl home whom he and some other guy liked but she ended up leaving with my uncle which the other guy must have hated, while they where walking on the road the other guy tried running them over what the cops called a "drunk" driver as there was no signs of stopping my uncle pushed the girl out of the way sacrificing him-self in the process. the "drunk" driver's case was settle out of court where he only got three years in jail and was never allowed into the native reservation he is from again my question is

is it wrong to want revenge and kill this person painfully as he made my whole family suffer since the justice system failed so badly?.

I think it's relatively normal to want revenge; it's not smart or good for you or the rest of your family, and it won't bring your uncle back. I don't think your uncle would want you to ruin your life by murdering someone and ending up in jail. I'm truly sorry for your loss.

Think of the Brady Bunch commercial for Snickers...."eye for an eye, that's what Dad always says!!!!" ;)

Now, with that said, nobody blames you for having the feelings, but, acting on those feelings is different, and then, you are no better than the person who killed your uncle, and, your soul is in jeapardy.

You don't want to run the risk of spending quality years of your life behind bars.

Take the high road. Forgive the killer...but, that doesn't mean you forget your Uncle or what this killer took from you. Like the other person said, killing that man doesn't bring your Uncle back.

Some day you will meet your maker, and, you will see your Uncle again, and he will be glad you took the high road.

I agree this person deserves to die or at least be tortured for a while but would that justice be worth you throwing your life away for?
