Is it normal to want nicotine every time i drink alcohol
My last cigarette was more than 4 months ago. It started when I was 17 and drunk at a festival, and it took a 'quitting' period of about a year and a half after that to stop buying cigarettes. Nowadays, I have zero cravings for cigarettes in ordinary life, but when I get drunk I remenisce about how relaxing smoking and nicotine felt.
Maybe because my first ever cigarettes were smoked when drunk, drinking now triggers that association. There is a packet of nicotine gum in the corner of my room, and whilst quitting I never bothered with the stuff because it causes a scratchy throat. Would it be so bad to get a little nicotine that way, or would even that count as me slipping back into my old ways?
