Is it normal to want my belly pierced

My sister got her bellybutton pierced last summer and i have been so jealous of her this whole time. I asked her once if she thought I should get it done and she laughed at me and said I wouldn't be able to take the moment of pain... :<

So I want to just go out and do it but I am scared! What if I cry while they do it (I'm a very emotional person and am kinda sensitive to pain) or if they peirce it weird or it gets infected or I look stupid with it? I'm probably worried over nothing but I think it's something to be concerned about! Is it normal to want it so bad but be too chicken to follow through??!!

    It hurts but it's not as bad you think. It's more like a hard pinch for like 2 seconds, it stinks maybe about seconds after your done. I've been wanting mine done since I was 16 but I had to wait untill I turned 18 told by my parents, I got it done 2 months after my 18th birthday and it was worth wanting all that time. What Caps90 said you can't take it back like the jewelry but you can let it heal over if you don't like it.

    Just do it that's what I did and yeah it hurt, but no worse than a shot! Just do it and once it is done you can't take it back so yeah!

    Getting it pierced realyt doesn't hurt! It's the heeling proccess, which for me, took over a year! It was so painful before it heeled. It would get a little infected, even though I took great care of it. But now it's been almost 3 years, and it looks great. I love it, and I'm so glad I got it done!

    If you really want it then you should get it! Unless you have some flab! Don't get it pierced if you have flab! That does not look good! Anyway, I have gotten mine pierced two different times (the first time it was crooked). It doesn't feel good when you get it pierced but the pain is just for a second and then it's done. Keeping it clean is hard though. I soaked mine every night in Epson salts and used the cream they gave me but it just never totally healed right so, I ended up taking it out.

    If you are that worried for the reasons you wrote then maybe you shouldn't get it done. But please don't make your decision based on some people saying it's slutty or outdated. People will be people in thinking that because they have an opinion on something that it makes true.

    And sluttiness is a attitude not what you wear.

    If you are a guy it is REALLY GAY and if you're a girl you will look slutty. The whole belly button piercing thing went out in the 90s.

      first theirs nothing wrong with being gay.
      Second, how is it slutty? a slut is someone who has sex with multiple people and i dont think a bellybutton piercing has anything to do with that..??

    If u want it pierced then go for it. I have mine pierced and it didn't really hurt at all, and only takes like a minute to get done. You shouldn't have any problems with infection as long as u follow the aftercare instructions they give u. @(~_~)@

    Do you want your belly button pierced because YOU want it or just to prove a point fuelled by jealousy?

    I've done the whole piercing thing and while they were great for a while I got bored of them and my belly button became sore (that was four years after I had it done), so I finally got rid of all my piercings.

    I mean that's not to say that you won't love it but I think that you should examine your own motives a little more since it seems to me you're using it as a status symbol.

    Just make sure you want it for you, not for someone else. Sorry if I got the situation wrong though :)

    That's your opinion. You probably really want one but are just mad because your too fat and nasty and it wouldn't look right on you
