Is it normal to want an educated president?

The examples being set for the South African youth to live their lives and work towards are laughable. American pop-culture has such an influence that even our President and his side-kick has recorded pop songs and behave like 'celebrities'. South Africa doesn't need celebrities, it needs leaders. Is it normal to want a president with at least a matric education?

Yes. A very true statement. A political leader shouldn't need to be a celebrity, all they should need is to be good at running a country and know what is best for the country's majority. Unfortunately, most people don't seem to think that way. :(

sorry I clicked no but meant yes.
It is not the head of state's role to entertain the population. A pop star president would lose all credibility in my eyes.
