Is it normal to want a relationship w/ tomboy?

We went through all of school together and just graduated highschool this year. I am 18, and she will be in a month.

Our moms have been very close friends since before we were born, so her and I have spent most of our lives together. We are best friends.

She's such a tomboy. She doesn't dress feminine at all. Her mom once bought her a dress and she cut it up and set it on fire. She doesn't have any female friends, and she's into skateboarding, gaming, action/horror movies, mechanics, metal music, pranks, weapons, etc.

I've recently realized I like her. All of my friends have super girly girlfriends (Wear skirts, makeup, scared of bugs, love shopping, etc.) I told my one friend that I like her and he laughed and said, "She has an ear spike, dude." (Which is true)

Is it normal I don't want a girly girlfriend? Is it normal I like a tomboy? She's seriously fun to hang out with and we have a lot in common. And I don't know how she'd handle it if I told her....

  • I prefer tomboys too. I don't care for ultra girly girls either. There's something really sexy about a girl who has a boyish vibe about her.

I know a girl (well actually a woman, since she's 26 now) who I had classes with in the past. She had short hair, was not super skinny and in fact probably hated the idea of being thin, was athletic, never wore dresses or high heels, played video games (even asking for my Xbox ID so she could send me a friend request), and smoked and laughed like a guy. She was loud and often abrasive and didn't care about manners or being ladylike. That being said, deep down she was gentle and delicate and very feminine. A couple times I think she knew I liked her as she would go out of her way to say hello or talk to me knowing I was shy and have trouble initiating conversation. Anyway, one day she wore some mascara and light makeup on her face and some gorgeous looking earrings. That's when I finally "realized" how pretty she was, even though I had known all along but never admitted it to myself. In terms of her body, she had a beautiful big butt and voluptuous curves that she often tried to hide.

Lol sounds like me! Ill dress in some girl shirts but SERIOUSLY the only pants I wear are jeans and Kahkis, but I like video games (I'm a total nerd) and RPGs and ever since I was little I liked boys toys like Legos and bionics and that shiny red big wheel you always see at the store but mom won't let you buy it. Yeah!
But if you guys have known each other your whole lives there's no doubt that you would have feelings for her and if you tell her she'd probably laugh then you'd say 'I'm serious!' and she'd stop laughing, look at you be like 'really?!' And you'd look away all nervous and she'd either grab your hand and kiss you or continue laughing and say 'That's sick bro!' And you'd yell and then she'll kiss you and that shit...
Trust me it happened when my best friend asked me out. I came out as bisexual then two months later she asked me out and I wasn't sure cuz she's a complete girly girl but we ended up doing it and then she told everyone I raped her!
yeah we aren't friends anymore...then my best guy friend recently moved up to WA where I live and asked me out and I reacted the same way but we didn't end up having sex...

    Of course; Tomboys are awesome.
She can be your "bro" and your "chick" at the same time!

I personally like both ends of the spectrum: tomboys and "girly" girls. I guess it's just that average people bore me more easily.

Of course it's normal, it's like hanging out with one of the guys except you can fuck her and get blowjobs

I live on and sail a 50' boat in the Caribbean. My girlfriend would be of little help if she was a "girly girl". As it is my girlfriend is a true partner and a great deal of help on board.
She's got a great tan, a great, but athletic body and has long hair which she wears it in a braid most of the time.
    Long live tomboys!!!!

Maybe a little, but the point was valid.
If having a great life and wanting to let others know there are options to a hum drum existence makes me an asshole, then so be it.
You don't sound like yours is going too well?
