Is it normal to want a label?

So I'm a female in my mid-twenties. I've been in a fwb situation for the last three months with a guy I've known for a while. Before we starting hooking up we were in contact with each other every day for about six months.
When it all started fwb suited both of us. Typically, being the chick, I've caught feelings for him. I know I need to talk to him about it. Thing is we're already going out on "date like" activities, we speak every day, neither of us are seeing or sleeping with anyone else... So even if I do have the talk and he wanted something more serious, nothing would change, but we could be 'official'

I'm not sure if he even wants more, but that's not really my question.
Is it normal to feel like you need to label your relationship as one thing or another?

  • If you don't label it, he's going to use it as an excuse to sleep with others (when he does). Talk before it hurts.
