Is it normal to want a girl to just be with and talk to?

So basically, I haven't had a girlfriend in about a year and a half, I love my family and they love me but I want someone out of my family to love, it's a different type of love, I just want a girl I can hang with and talk to and cuddle with and just be with, just the thought of another warm body next to me just makes me kinda happy, I don't date girls for sex, I date them for love, I love to just hang out with my girlfriend and hold her in my arms with her head against my chest and just talk for hours or watch a movie together just the love I feel when I'm with a girl is something I miss and I just want to know if it's normal to just want a girlfriend to be there and love.
