Is it normal to date a girl who's about 3 (2 1/2) years younger than me? Currently I'm 19 and this girl I like is 16. I kinda liked her for a while back in high school and for a time she liked me but I didn't try anything because she's younger than me and back then I was finishing high school and joined the Marine Corps. But, it's been about a year and now that everything's settled down for now and these feelings resurfaced and I don't know what to do. I really like her and I can wait till she's 18 to legally date her but I wanted to ask her out and take her on some dates when I go back home on leave for a while and make her my girl.

Also please comment below on what I should do?

    Umm, am I reading this right? Is this a post about a guy that is willing to wait until his 16 year old object d'Amore turns 18 before he goes balls deep? On this site?

    Sorry, this is, unusual. Umm, yes, if you feel that strongly about her, and you feel having a girlfriend who you can't have sex with while all your "marine mates" are plugging everything that doesn't have a dick 9 different ways a night won't cause you to be conflicted or ostracised; then certainly you should take her to movies, go on long platonic walks, and do whatever else a 19-21 year old guy can legally do with his underage girlfriend...

    Seriously, if you can make it 2 years, you deserve a medal, and she'd be a damn fool not to marry you.

      Of course I wouldn't have sex with her since she's underage but I kinda thought if I even announced that I was DATING her my command could step in or I'd be shunned or my buddies would talk behind my back. Again, since I'd be dating her under the age of 18 people may jump to certain conclusions which creates rumors.

        Shes just 16. Its really not that big of a deal.

        Perhaps don't let your command, or your buddies know? I mean they don't HAVE to know every little detail of your life do they?

        actually 16 is the age of consent in a lot of states so depending on where you are the two of you could legally have sex.
