Is it normal to wake up with violent shaking?
Periodically since i turned 20, I have woken up with violent shakes, teeth chattering and weakness. My skin feels warm to the touch but i feel as if i am freezing and cannot get warm. These episodes last from one to five hours. I keep three blankets by my bed at all times because once this starts I become so weak I can't even get out of bed. I have to cover my whole body including my head( which i only do during these episodes, I hate my head under covers.) but it helps b/c my breath is warm and helps some. After I wake up more it gets worse My teeth start to clench, all muscles tense and my body shakes uncontrollably and violently. Once under the blankets even though I am freezing, I have this uncontrollable urge to sleep, but of course I don't sleep but I think I might be passing out during this because I have checked the clock by peeking out of the covers and sometimes 20 mins has passed. this happened again 1 night ago, I decided It was time to call an ambulance but as I reached out of the blankets to grab my cell it shook out of my hands and landed three feet away. It seems idiotic that I couldn't push myself to move but I really could not I just went back under the covers and stayed. I wasn't even able to call out to my sons, with my teeth clenched so tight. My son's stayed up all night last night just in case it happened again, it didn't thank God, I have never had it twice in a row but they were concerned. Also the next two days after these episodes I am so weak and feel like i have been run over and normally takes 3 days to feel myself again. I don't know if this is the right web site for me but I am trying anything. has anyone ever had this experience as me? and if so did you see a doctor? and what was said? If you have will you share with me. Thank you
