Is it normal to wake up in the middle of night to shower

My husband randomly woke up in the middle of the night and took a shower. I asked him why and he said he felt dirty (We didn't have sex or anything).
I find this to be very weird. Wake up, take a shower, then go right back to sleep, wtf?
Is this normal ?

    Maybe he had a dirty dream or he was having trouble falling asleep?
    Taking a hot shower/bath usually makes you more sleepy :D

      exacally and more relaxed (hence the sleepiness)

        No. first time in 15 years. I asked him if he couldnt sleep and he said 'no I just felt dirty and uncomfortable'. He doesnt find this weird, but I sure do!

    I used to do this in summer before I got my AC installed. I live in Australia so summer here is horrible!

    No big deal.. I've done this myself. Sometimes I just feel like relaxing in the hot water and feel like doing it if i happen to wake up like that.

    I would do that if I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep. Just to do something and b/c my face gets oily, especially at night, so I'd feel more comfortable.
