My girlfriend is retarded. When we are out I usually say " this my girlfriend Susan; she is a retard" My girlfriend think its funny but my friends think its mean. Isn't retard an ok word to use? When did it go out of style?
It's gone from a term meaning someone who's mentally handy capped to just being an insult. So no II would not use the term retarded.
There's nothing wrong with the word "retard." Almost every time I come to this site, I call at least one person a "retard."
Every time you come to this site you seem to spew hate and vitrol until somebody puts you in your place. Then you run away while crying over your shoulder about how you feel you're soooo far above the diverse group of folks here.

It's not that it went out of style; 'retard' is no longer a politically correct word to use. It used to mean someone whose IQ is below 70, but we don't use that term any more, even if it's true.
At the moment it's used as an insult. As long as your girlfriend is fine with it, call her that all you want, but be careful with using it around others who could take offence.
