Is it normal to use a condom?

I was talking with my friends and one of my friends was talking about how he got with this girl. I asked did you use a condom? He looked at me like I was an idiot. And our other friend was like "awe, don't worry you'll learn someday, it's called "pulling out". I was like yeah ik but you can still get diseases. My friends shook there heads "no. no that's just a waste of money." Is it normal to use a condom now a days?

Of course condoms are normal. The pulling out method isn't especially effective. You can still contract/spread diseases, especially the worst of all: pregnancy.

Actually, the chances of getting pregnant due to precum is very, very slim. There is actually very low levels, if any, sperm in it. You can still get diseases though, yes, so it's not recommended.

Oh, and welcome back to the site!

In addition to the fact that there are only very low levels of sperm in pre-ejaculate, the sperm are dormant. Unless you've already ejaculated recently and haven't urinated since, leaving some active sperm in the urethra, you can't get someone pregnant from pre-ejaculate.

          Thank you for adding that.

So, if you've had sex two times in one night with no break, there is a chance to get pregnant! Otherwise, precum is not a big deal. Its just another sticky mess.

your friends are certainly immature no offense. You MUST use a condom!! Not only to protect yourself from disease but to stop us females getting pregnant otherwise you have to ask yourself this: "Am I ready to be a committed father"?

At least your friends wont be paying child support for long.

    They'll probably die of aids.

Horrible, but no less than they deserve. Anyone too stupid to use protection is too stupid to have sex.

(except in the case of you're with someone and trying to get pregnant, obviously)

    Too expensive? Try child support.

It's not the first time I have heard this.
While pulling out MAY be effective, it does not keep you from getting STDs, which are very real and very painful.

I have even heard this from women. We wonder why half of the babies born in the United States were unintentional.

Sexually transmitted diseases are at an all time high amongst both the young and people over sixty (who don't use them because they can't get pregnant). First off, everyone should protect themselves with new partners. Secondly, when older members of society accuse the young of being stupid, the first sentence of this is a little factoid which shows that if there's any stupidity around, it's in people, not specifically "young" people.

I am legitimately torn on whether to laugh or cry about your friends, OP.
They are way too stupid to be having sex.

"Pulling out" doesn't mean you won't get a girl pregnant. Condoms may not be 100% affective but using the pull out method is far worse; you're friends are the idiots. And soon they will be idiots paying child support. Where the condom!

Now disease's, if you have protected sex that will decrease the possibility of getting a disease, compared to not wearing one. But remember condoms won't guarantee you won't get a disease or some woman pregnant but it will decrease the chance of it.

Unless, you feel like paying 100's of thousands of dollars for medical care, wear a fucking comdom! I always wear a condom. Even when im gettin kinky, I strap up. The only exception to me not wearing a comdom is when im having diaper sex, baby!!!!!!

Your friends are stupid and they're going to end up fathering kids and catching the dong rot. Condoms are the intelligent decision, unless you actually want to have a kid and know your partner's clean.

2: What if you accidentally blast off? Just the worrying would be a traumatic experience, even if she's on the pill and doesn't get pregnant.

    ''You'll learn one day'' ?

Yeah he'll learn one day when he finds out his girl is pregnant and 9 months later, his whole life will change.

    Idiots these days.

ues its normal wtf. unless as you stated, you want to catch a nasty disease, if you sleep around, and your partner has been successfully tested.dont listen to your friends, a girl can also become impregnated by pre-cum also. its not all about the 'pulliing out' part. be safe.

Good god if you do not want a baby then regardless of what your "mates" say please do not rely on the pull out method for the following reasons. When you feel yourself about to ejaculate you may be over come with that much sexual pleasure that you may not want to pull out or to put it another way you may get caught up in the moment and also prior to ejaculation you release what is called pre cum.
I am not saying that condoms are 100% effective but the pull out method is a definate no no. xx

Pulling out resulted in two unwanted pregnancies and two abortions for my wife and me. But at the time I loved fucking her from behind and pulling out at the last minute and cumming on her back. My wife has a nice wide arse and looks sexy from that angle. Bareback sex is best.

-.- pulling out ughhhh I hate when people are like why use a condom when you can pull out, what hell no that's so dumb. A friend of mines had sex for the first time and so they didn't use a condom because they "Pulled out" than afterwards she was all paranoid calling me in the middle of the night for like a week because she thought she might pregnant. She took a pregnancy test turns out she's not, but anyways the point is in my opinion use a condom when you have sex!

"don't worry, you will learn someday, it is called "pulling out" awww how cute is that, they will soon know how it is to be a father if they continue to "pull it out", if they don't get a disease first.

It's completely normal to wear condoms. My boyfriend and I were both virgins when we first had sex and we used condoms for awhile but eventually we just got to the point where he pulled out and we stopped using condoms. I'm on birth control and I never miss a pill and I take it at the same time everyday.

I had unprotected sex with over 40 girls before I turned 21. I didn't get a std or kid, but looking back it was pretty dumb. Funny thing is tho not one girl ever flinched or asked if I had one.

I honestly don't know a lot of people who use condoms, I also don't know anyone who has caught any STDs. I'd rather not have sex than use a condom, they are absolute shit.

Maybe you were just trolling, but that was a really sick comment.

The point is, how can you be sure that you don't know anyone that has caught STDs? How often do they show you their test results?

      • Darkoil

I'm not trolling at all. The only time I use a condom is when I am doing anal. Most girls I know now are on the pill, even if they are single. I remember a few years ago in college some nurses came in and me and all my friends pissed into a container and then you would get a txt message a week or so later telling you if you had the all clear from certain STDs, no one was ashamed to show their results because nobody had anything. I live in a small town so if someone had an STD everyone would eventually find out about it. I did know a couple back in school who had crabs but thats about it.

Of course it is! Unless you are an irresponsible idiot! Slap your friend in the head and tell him we don't need more unwanted children in this world! If he is really this stupid I doubt he is going to be responsible enough to stay when he gets one of those girls pregnant. Condoms are 80% effective. Ask him for the statistics saying "Pull out" beats that method. Pill is less effective so a condom works better. If you have both you should have better luck but condoms work best. They have condoms for ladies as well.

Yes! Always use a condom, the pull-out method does not always work due to pre-ejaculation and those little sperm are strong swimmers. You are correct, you want to make certain that you remain healthy. Sex can kill these days so always, always use a condom.

It's definitely normal to use a condom and normal to not use a condom. You can get STDs when you use a condom as well as not using one. If you are normal, not using a condom is much more pleasurable then using one. I've had tons of cum inside me and I am still baby less. Birth control and plan b exist for a reason, but so do condoms! Go with what ever makes you comfortable!
