Is it normal to trip on acid for 10hrs straight?

Last summer a friend of my older brother (he's 20 I'm 18) gave me 5 tabs of pure lsd instead of gas money after giving him a ride to the store. He gave me the tabs said thanks and got out. I had never tried any hallucinogens before, so I wanted to try it with a good friend. I drove to my friends house at about 8 and we decided to take the acid at 11:00, with his brother as our sober 3rd wheel. After dropping the acid I felt the effects within seconds, starting with a full body and head buzz followed by the trip. There were glow sticks on the floor and the lorax on the TV, and we were tripping! Talking about subliminal messages in the Lorax and other random bullshit which was fun. But then wr noticed it was 8:00am and we were still tripping. My friend started getting paranoid and thought the couch was trying to eat him. Every time i tried to close my eyes and sleep i saw colors and shit with my eyes closed. We eventually fell asleep at like 9:30am and woke up at 2 still with an after glow from the lsd. Is that normal?

        That's what happens with that stuff. You get into the 10th, 12th, or even longer hours and think you aren't coming back which fuels further anxiety thus keeping it going even longer. That does happen to some people, but usually you do come back eventually. People definitely have "got stuck" before though especially with acid

    Whatever you took, it was not LSD25. It normally takes 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to feel any real effects and I've never known an acid trip to last longer than 8 hours. In reality, there is no correlation between quantity and the length or intensity of a trip, if you have actually taken 100 mg's of LSD 25.
    LSD 25, is the only LSD that produces an "acid trip", though there are other, more easily made LSD's. It is very difficult to make 25, it takes a lab; you cannot make it in your kitchen. There is very little commercial demand for LSD25, so no one makes it in quantity. Be very careful when you are offered LSD because it is most likely a combination of substances that may be quite dangerous; it is surely not LSD25. Unless the chemist himself is offering, and I mean a real chemist.

      Well I don't plan on messing with hallucinogens again, I'll just stick to smoking bud . I kinda guessed it wasn't pure but he said it was. It had a slight odd taste to it.

    1. He gave you 5 tabs for a lift to the store...bullshit, who would do that.

    2. You started feeling the effects within seconds...double bullshit LSD does not kick in that quick.

    3. It only lasts about 6 hours you would not be tripping that hard after 10 hours no matter how much you took.

      The fucked up thing is that he killed himself a couple weeks later

    Yea a lot of drugs last longer when you are asleep because your brain isn't as active. I met someone who took over 20 hits and he is on a permenate acid trip and thinks he is a cup of orange juice.

      Trust me, it wasn't the real thing. In this day and age it's purely Russian roulette to take street drugs. This ain't the 60's when many of these drugs were still legal and you could get the real thing.
      Pure LSD 25 is a very finite drug; overdosing is not possible because it releases a substance from a gland in your body and there is only so much of that substance, period. It takes 8 days to regenerate the substance, so you can't even take more than one trip in that period.
      There are literally thousands of legal and illegal drugs out there that can turn one into a vegetable by overdosing, but LSD 25 is not one of them.

        I assume you're right. Though I've had a few different "acid" trips and some have lasted a long time - 12 hours to me would indicate good acid, and it is out there. Though we're in different countries etc. I also don't doubt what you're saying. There's a multitude of chemicals out there.
