Is it normal to trace letters?

Well, I guess I would have to call this a habit, if anything... It's hard to explain, so please bear with me. Well, first and foremost I have had a habit of, what you might call, tracing letters and numbers with my eyes. It doesn't matter what word it is, but I'll trace the letters or numbers with my eyes and get a number in my head for each one.
Like, for example:
A=3
And then 3 equals eight (because a circle usually equals four).
So it could go on, but the number or word always is a number, either 8 or 6 because those equal themselves...
Like:
Hello= 14 = 4 = 3 = 8.
It may sound complicated... But it's actually really easy for me...

    My brother used to remember phone numbers through arranging football players last names.

    if a number has a 735 he'd think of a player with the 73 and a guy 05 and remember the jerseys in the order of the phone number or addresses.

    However some of us have some unique talents and there's evidence to something more.
    Do some research on "Star Child" Not the skull but the children of the ancient aliens that are referenced in the sumarian cuniform texts.

    The OP associates words/letters with numbers. It's actually pretty common. My friend associates people with numbers and colors. Another friend calls certain moods "strawberry" and stuff like that.
