Is it normal to throw yourself out of reality?

Whenever i know no one is going to be at my house for a while sometimes i'll pretend to be the playable character in a video game. like in call of duty i stay by the npc's side to make sure they don't die. whatever nationality the character is i'll talk in that accent. i don't know why i do it but it just makes the game more enjoyable. so.... is it normal?

    I am Gordon Freeman.

I am a geinus physicist who goes around my house smashing things with a crowbar and pushing gigantic buttons.

  • Reality is often not fun, so as long as you still understand that you live in reality, taking a break from it is not a bad thing.

Video Games are for playing. You are free to play the game how ever you'd like. That's great that you are finding a new and different way to play the game, and as long as you have fun who care.

I think so many people take video games way too seriously(including myself at times ) so it's good that you have fun with it.
