Is it normal to throw used period rags in your closet?

hello, my girlfriend uses actual wash clothes instead of pads or tampons when she has her period... this is fine, I guess, but is it normal that she just throws them in her dirty clothes bag in her closet??? not rinsed first or anything... and she doesn't do her laundry very often. I think this is dirty and will attract bugs and possibly wild animals! what do you think??

    if you can talk to her about it without insulting her i would try, i guess its fine the way she takes care of it ( i like being able to dispose of the pad after but w/e) but i think you have a point. I also think that just sitting there itd like soak in and collect bacteria, i dont know how well it gets disinfected after sitting for a long time then being machine washed, its probably not the best for her downstairs health.
