Is it normal to throw a party when your friends don't know each other?

I finished writing my novel and I wanted to throw a party to celebrate. My problem is that my friends are very spread out and they don't know each other. I've never had a group of friends, just completely different people here and there.

My question is if it would be weird to throw a party with these friends, because they don't know each other. I think that might be awkward.

I think that would probably be a lot better than most parties where people know each other and have all sorts of pre conceived notions...maybe you could incorporate a game "get to know strangers" or something like that?

I have always had that problem!! Never fit in with certain groups and all my friends, when hanging out its usually more one on one. So when i bring people together, i feel pressure to satisfy everyone and im kind of all over the place rather than being chill as preferred... This ice is bound to be broken one way or the other, i say go for it. Good luck and let things flow!

Go for it!! I do this regularly.. If you don't tell everyone they don't know each other then no one realises. Just stay busy introducing everyone ... It is then up to them whether they have a good time or not... Wish I could come! :)
